The truth is, this could be written on paper, to feel the literal flow of ink with the thoughts. But it’s not really meant to be that kind of kinetic reflection. It’s an activity to unlock a different flow, a mental creative flow, following the prompt “The truth is…”.
So, what flow is there to unlock? The truth is, there’s quite much out there, or rather, in there. Much that fears the light of day, like a vampire. So much buried and tossed and turned in its place that it forgot which way was up, which way was out. It feels a bit stuck. To unstuck itself, it created its own image of a universe, a new contained world it’s now occupying that is worthy of exploring, Would it abandon this newfound world for a way out? The truth is, I don’t know. No one does. Things got so muddled and distorted, the question itself now doesn’t make sense. In a way, the flow has led here, so, the truth is, it is finding porous ground somewhere in the muddled mindscape. Somewhere there, a path was forged between worlds. The truth is, the flow can only be flowing, somewhere, and it is in this realisation that the truth might lie.
The truth is… is a helpful prompt that can lead to various creative directions. The above extract is personal, reflective, existential, and for that reason, assuming about ‘truth’. In the prompt, ‘truth’ is opinion, feeling, belief, and therefore multifaceted, shapeshifting, elusive. My truth is mine. What does it look to you? In a world obsessed with facts, truth can be misunderstood, misused, or abused. But, the truth is, this is exactly the point. No one truth is the truth.
Try it… the truth is, it might unlock something surprising, or even magical!
